In the Beginner Beekeeping outline, there are two choices for Oxalic Acid Dribble. One with sugar water, and one with glycerin. What is the best option, which one do you use, and why?
The sugar water option seems a little easier to make since you heat up the water and sugar and then add the acid. In the glycerin recipe you heat up the acid, water and glycerin together. The possibility of OA fumes/volatility is making me a little nervous since I'd be mixing that up on my stove top in the house.
From Randy Oliver's website, the glycerin seems to be a better alternative as it "sticks" to the bees better and they don't like the taste.
How do you make your dribble and which do you use. Thanks!
