Convincing Bees to move honey

I was pulling honey supers and found a queen laying in one of the supers in a hive even though I had a queen excluder in place.  I moved the queen into the double deeps below the excluder and left the brood in the super to hatch out.  Now I have a super full of honey but do not have a need to harvest that honey.  I have read that you can replace the excluder with an inner cover and turn the super upside down to convince the bees to move the honey down into the deeps.  I also read to just put on an inner cover, an empty super, and the full super on top of the hive and they will also move the honey down.  Any ideas?
